2010 has seen Chicago hosting some of the biggest names in Brazilian music. Last month Gilberto Gil, in June – Joao Gilberto and now it has been announced that Seu Jorge will be playing the Congress Theatre on Tuesday, August 3. You can buy tickets here.
Seu Jorge is arguably the greatest voice of contemporary samba. He’s also one of a very few Brazilian musicians to have penetrated America’s consciousness, perhaps more for his work in film (City of God, Life Aquatic) than music.
