Holy Shit! As if there weren’t enough reasons to love singer & actor Seu Jorge… he’s just released a version of the Roy Ayers classic Everybody Loves The Sunshine ! Recorded with Brazilian super group Almaz, featuring members of Nação Zumbi along with City of God composer António Pinto (see an exclusive Cultural Cannibals interview with Pinto here) and produced by Beastie Boys collaborator Mario C., this 12″ single will be released June 27 on Stones Throw records Now Again imprint. This release will coincide with a 16 date North American tour for Jorge and Almaz (good news for us Midwesterners, the tour will stop in Chicago Aug. 3, more info here). Don’t overlook the B-side, a soulful interpretation of Martinho da Vila’s classic samba Ciranda.
