Cultural Cannibal Artur Silva’s permanent installation ‘Pancadão – The Culture of Baile Funk’ is now open at the Rhythm! Discovery Center in Downtown Indianapolis.

Thanks to Brazil’s biggest newspaper ‘O Globo’ for their coverage of this piece.

Special thanks to Mr. Catra, Fabio ACM, Slow Dabf, Chiara Rimoldi and Marcelo Dev. In memory of Claudio Rodrigues de Mattos (from Claudinho e Buchecha) maker of one the first Baile Funk hits to break from the Favelas into the mainstream.

Research, travel and production costs were funded in part by a generous grant from the Indiana Arts Commission and The National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency. Additional support provided by the Efroymson Family Fund, a CICF Fund, through the Efroymson Contemporary Art Fellowship and the Pollock-Krasner Foundation.
